Help with costs for insulation and solar panels - a route to lower bills

Updated: Feb 26, 2023

Do you or someone you know have a hard-to-heat, privately owned property and also on a low income? With the costs of living and electricity bills rising, this is a good time to address fuel bills at the same time as reducing your carbon footprint.

The latest Green Homes Grant is available – but act fast.

Applications close at the end of March.

Only available for:

· low income households

· hard to heat, privately owned properties

Up to £10,000 for energy saving measures

Five measures for saving money and CO2 can be funded. In order of preference these are:

  • · Cavity, loft and underfloor insulation ...then

  • · Solar PV, solar thermal

In CARR we see retrofitting our housing stock as such an important opportunity to act on climate change. But the cost can be off-putting and prohibitive. We hope the more people take up these schemes, the more the schemes will be offered, expanded and developed.

Spread the word.

Let us know if you follow this up and how you get on. We would love to feed back to Redhill and Reigate about someone's personal experience of the scheme.
